The U.S. Air Force published a concept art for a fighter aircraft being built under the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) project intended to include both crewed and uncrewed aircraft.
In its biennial report for acquisition published on April 9, a large NGAD aircraft with a delta-style, flying wing-type design can been seen armed with weapons.
NGAD was originally mooted as a joint project between the Air Force and the Navy, and there is still some cooperation between them, but the two services have created separate NGAD offices. Air Force NGAD is budgeted at $9 billion from 2019 to 2025. The FY 2021 budget is $1 billion, with a request of $1.5 billion for FY 2022.

JAKARTA - The cockpit voice recorder (CVR) from a crashed Sriwijaya Air jet has been downloaded successfully and includes the last minutes of the flight that ended with 62 people dead, an official at Indonesia s air accident investigator said on Monday.
The contents of the recording from the 26-year old Boeing Co 737-500 that crashed shortly after take-off on Jan. 9 cannot be disclosed publicly at this stage of the probe, Indonesia National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) investigator Nurcahyo Utomo said. (The data is) good, he told Reuters. We have downloaded it.
The CVR was recovered in late March after a near three-month search of the Java Sea. It was found in mud sucked up by a dredging ship and was dried out and cleaned of mud and salt.
Islamist insurgency Boko Haram claimed the shooting down of a Nigerian Air Force fighter jet in a video seen by Reuters on Friday, two days after the aeroplane went missing in the country's northeast.

Iran s civil aviation body says an error by an air defence operator led to the shooting down of a Ukrainian passenger plane in January 2020.
Key points:
The report said a radar mistake led to the plane being identified as hostile
Ukraine has rejected the report s findings
All 176 people on board died. The plane was identified as a hostile target due to a mistake by the air defence operator … near Tehran and two missiles were fired at it, the aviation body s report said.
The Hortons had also designed a flying wing for Hitler.
Key point: A fair number of Nazis fled after World War II to Argentina. Here is how one German designer tried to build a jet for his new government.
The German Horton brothers, Reimar and Walter, were amateur airplane designers and flight enthusiasts. During Europe’s inter-war years, they came to prominence in Germany for their involvement in the country’s glider scene. After the First World War, Germany had been limited in what kinds and numbers of planes they were allowed to build. Gilders, however, were not restricted by the terms of the Treaty of Versailles, which ended the war.
